Invicta Training Center is a 10,000-sf training facility located in Edina, MN designed to train the next generation of athletes and hockey professionals. Complete with a turf running track, synthetic ice shooting and stick handling areas, an extensive weight training area, and a vision-focus training room, athletes have all the resources necessary to develop and refine their skills for success in any sport. The mostly pre-cast construction of the building was chosen to meet both the durability and economic requirements of the program. The front features a multi-colored brick façade accented by an elegant metal awning and substantial glazing for natural light. The building has design qualities that reflect the toughness and strength of the coaches and athletes that form the Invicta and Minnesota Made community. 

SRa teamed up with Minnesota Made Hockey, Copeland Building, and BKBM to realize the design of this state-of-the-art training center. Navigating municipal and watershed requirements were a top priority during the design phases of the project. Coordination meetings were held regularly with both the client and design team, and the City of Edina to ensure the timely delivery of the project documents through the city approval process. Once the project was in the ground in late 2023, all parties continued to work in tandem to ensure a headache-free construction process. Thanks to the efficiency and accuracy of the Copeland team, along with the quality product provided by their vendors, the project was turned over in time for a Fall 2024 opening to the Minnesota Made community. 

Athletes who join the Invicta Hockey Institute will know that this new sport facility is designed with their success in mind. With a focus on improving both physical and cognitive skills, the Invicta Training Center takes advantage of the tailor-made facilities and experienced coaches on staff to develop athletes’ strength, conditioning, and specialized skill sets. Invicta’s coaches and trainers can have confidence that their aspirations for the development of their athletes can turn into concrete results with this new facility. SRa has been honored to extend these opportunities to the Minnesota Made community by providing them with a cost-effective, thoughtfully designed new training center for years to come.
