Twin Cities Orthopedics Clinic & Physical Therapy

PROJECT

Twin Cities Orthopedics Eagan is a state-of-the-art, full service orthopedic, rheumatology, and sports medicine center in Eagan, Minnesota. Located across the street from the Vikings Museum & Team Store and the Training Haus Flagship sports complex, it is the place to be for athletes and Vikings fans alike. TCO Eagan features a therapy pool, a physical therapy area, numerous treatment and exam rooms, administration space, and an urgent-care center on the third floor. SRa was responsible for the interior design and layout of the orthopedic and ambulatory surgery centers with the objective of designing an environment that was both visually pleasing and navigable for patients and staff.

PROCESS

SRa took extreme care to listen to the needs of TCO for this interior build-out. Ensuring that the needs of the organization were addressed for the orthopedic and urgent-care centers was of vital importance. One such important need was that of the layout of the ambulatory surgery center, which was designed with the organized flow of personnel and material in mind. The floor plan lays out a sequential process where patients start from the waiting area, move to adjacent consultation offices and pre-op exam rooms, are relocated to operating rooms when ready, recover in post-op rooms next to the elevator and stair lobby, and are then able to easily exit from the building once they are cleared. This extremely important functionality facilitates a streamlined surgical process allowing TCO Eagan to provide the high-quality care that they are known for to more patients.

RESULT

Together with Kraus Anderson Construction, SRa has realized a cutting-edge orthopedic center to serve the needs of the city of Eagan. This modern facility effectively responds to the diverse orthopedic needs of both athletes and non-athletes in the area. SRa is proud to partner with Twin Cities Orthopedics to make their incredibly valuable care available to more and more of those who need it.

Jocelyne Dougan

Project Coordinator

During Jocelyne’s formative years she spent a lot of time with her grandmother painting, drawing, and making all sorts of crafts. As a child she watchedher dad, helpingwhere she could, renovatetheir home from the ground up. Theylivedin a constant cycle of demolishing and rebuilding,to make something new andbeautiful. As a teenager she began taking advanced art classes and making pottery whenever she had free time between classes and after school. Looking at Jocelyne’s childhood, architecture seemed like an obvious choice, but it was not so clear when Jocelyne entered college. She began her post-secondary education studying accounting due to her interests in business throughout high school. However, she quickly realized that creativity was a necessity for her future career. Jocelyne changed her major to architecture and transferred to the University of Minnesota. It was there thatshe grew her knowledge of architecture as well as, interior design, history, and art. In 2018 she graduated with her Bachelor of Design in Architecture and began working at a firm in Saint Paul, gaining experience in both government and educational design. She soon returned to the University of Minnesota to complete her Master of Architecture degree with the hopes of pursuing licensure. Now that Jocelyne has completed her master’s degree, her professional goals aim to experience as many opportunities as possible both for the sake of learning as well as the need to feed her inner child’s love of art and exploration. Jocelynehopes to apply a wide range of knowledge and skills to better inform an all-encompassing design practice.
